Beginner Entomology Projects
Beginning Level - Getting Started in Entomology (4H ENM 10)
This publication is for ages 8-10 that are interested in learning more about insects. The 4-H'ers will learn the parts of an insect, the names of some common insects, the life cycles of some insects, and where common insects can be found. Four-H'ers will also collect insects and learn a simple way to display them. View the PDF.
Creepy Crawlies - Entomology 1 (4HCCS BU-6853)
This project guide is for 4-H members ages 9-11, and is the first in the Entomology "Insectaganza of Excitement" series. In Creepy Crawlies 4-H'ers will learn; the different parts of an insect's body, the different mouth types, how to collect insects, how insects communicate, about their vision, insects habitats, insect control methods, about the digestive system of insects, using insects as a source of food, and about the movement of insects. Intermediate Level - Collecting and Identifying Insects (4H ENM 11)

In What's Bugging You? 4-H'ers will learn about; the marketing appeal of insects, how insects use color as a form of communication, integrated pest management (IPM), careers in entomology, pinning insects, what insects eat, how insects develop, and identifying insect habitats. Advanced Level - Working with Insects (4H ENM 12)

Dragons, Houses and Other Flies-Entomology 3 (4HCCS BU-6855)
This activity guide is for 4-H members ages 15 and up, and is the third in the Entomology 
"Insectaganza of Excitement" series. In Dragons, Houses and Other Flies 4-H'ers will learn about; the scientific method, the impact of limited resources, ant behavior, observing insect behavior, leading others, using an insect key, chemical communication, testing insect food preferences, rearing mosquitoes, collecting spider webs, wing venation, researching data, aquatic insects, and the life cycle of the monarch butterfly. Basic Beekeeping (4H ENM 70) 
This beekeeping manual is geared for 4-H'ers ages 8 and up interested in learning about the beginning steps to beekeeping. Those interested will learn about bees and the colonies in which they live. It explains the reasons for keeping bees and tells how to get started in beekeeping projects.
