Honey Bee Research and Extension Lab

Want to help honey bees?

Join the UF/IFAS Honey Bee Research and Extension Laboratory (HBREL) in improving honey bee health, increasing the sustainability of the beekeeping industry, and preserving the vital role that honey bees play as pollinators.

Our goal is to improve the health and productivity of bee pollinators everywhere. We conduct research, share our findings through diverse extension programming, and train future generations of bee educators, researchers, and conservationists.

Your monthly or annual gift will support our research and outreach programs, allowing us to elevate our work and reach more people who care about honey bees. We ask you to support at one of the following levels:

Adopt a Bee: $10 monthly/$120 annually
Symbolically supports one Extension or outreach activity   

  • Recognition on the website/donor sign
  • “My Honey Bees Go to UF” sticker

Adopt a Queen: $25 monthly/$300 annually
Symbolically sponsors one research hive

  • Recognition on the website/donor sign
  • Quarterly updates from the Bee Lab
  • Invitation to hive demonstration days (biannual event)
  • “My Honey Bees Go to UF” sticker and tote bag

Adopt a Hive: $100/month or $1,200 annually
Supports one research project   

  • Recognition on the website/donor sign
  • Quarterly updates from the Bee Lab
  • Invitation to hive demonstration days (biannual event)
  • “My Honey Bees Go to UF” sticker and tote bag
  • Special event invite with Dr. Jamie Ellis, Dr. Cameron Jack, and Ms. Amy Vu
