These certificates are designed for employees of the mosquito control and urban and landscape pest control industries, plant production industries, or other industries where pest management is an important issue, or for individuals who desire to work in these areas.
The courses on this page can be taken at the undergraduate level (courses numbered in the 3000s and 4000s). To view graduate-level (courses numbered in the 5000s or 6000s) please visit our Graduate Online Learning page.

Please contact Dr. Phil Koehler (352-392-2484 or pgk@ufl.edu) with all questions about the Pest Control Technology Certificate.
A Certificate in Pest Control Technology allows the certificate holder to qualify to take the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) exams for commercial pest control certification in the categories of General Household Pests (GHP), Wood-Destroying Organisms (WDO), and Lawn and Ornamental (L&O). The certificate was designed to meet the requirements of Chapter 482 of the Florida Statutes in order to qualify Florida residents* for the exam by way of education.
*Note: This certificate program is open to all who meet the application requirements, including out-of-state students. However, each state has different requirements for licensure or certification; therefore we are currently unable to determine whether or not the Pest Control Technology certificate program meets the educational requirements in any additional states. It is the responsibility of out-of-state students to conduct their own research for their state’s requirements prior to enrolling in this certificate program.
