Stephanie Gillespie

Stephanie Gillespie is in her final year at UF and is majoring in biology and minoring in English. She has completed a year and a half in the lab and has helped design and execute an intensive project on the context-dependence of female mate preferences. She will be presenting this work in 2010.


Fae Nageon de Lestang

Fae Nageon de Lestang

Fae completed a year and a half of research in the Miller Lab last spring. She was a University Scholar and has published and presented her work nationally. See "Publications" link for more details.


Elisa Martinez

Elisa Martinez

Eliza is a junior biology major and has completed a year and a half in the Miller lab. The bulk of her research this past year has focused on a heritability experiment for cactus bug morphology and reproductive behaviors. She will be a coauthor on this manuscript with a target submission date of Spring 2010.

Christopher Maxwell Jr.
(aka "Will")

C. Will Maxwell Jr.

Will is a junior Biochemistry major and has completed a year and a half in the Miller Lab. Through the University Scholar's program, he has pursued field work on cactus bug perceptual range at the Ordway-Swisher Biological Station. He will be presenting and publishing this work in 2010.


Linhchi Nguyen “Chi”

Linhchi Nguyen

Chi is a junior chemistry major and has completed a year in the lab. She has recently been working with Ben Anderson and Christine Miller on the use of social information in cactus bugs. This work will be submitted for publication in 2010.


Rebekah Zaiser

Rebekah Zaiser

Bekah is in her final year at UF and has completed a year in the Miller Lab. She has received the HHMI Science for Life award and is currently studying mating behavior in cactus bugs. She will be presenting a poster on this work in January 2010.


Ben Anderson

Ben Anderson

Ben is a senior majoring in Entomology. He also currently serves as the president of two student organizations, the Entomology Club and Christian Campus House. Ben is the 2009-2010 recipient of the CALS Alumni and Friends scholarship and the Murphrey scholarship, both for academic excellence. Ben has completed two semesters in the lab and will be coauthoring a study on social plasticity in a local Florida species of cactus bug. From the research experience gained in the Miller Lab, Ben hopes to pursue further research, potentially in the field of medical entomology after obtaining a medical degree.
