Wendy Helmey-Hartman

Wendy joined the Miller Lab (on an UF University Fellowship) after completing ten years of teaching middle and high school science courses. A perennial college student and lifelong learner, Wendy previously attended the University of Florida and earned the following degrees: B. S. in Zoology, M. Ed. in Science Education, M. S. in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation, Ed. S. in Special Education. Wendy is interested in the effects of environmental heterogeneity on multi-modal communication in harlequin bugs

M. Scarlett Tudor

Scarlett is a Ph.D. student through UF Biology, but has been working closely with us on bug projects now since 2008. Her dissertation work combines research on fish and cactus bugs to examine female mate choice behaviors, and in particular, how they change according to female age, experience, and context.


Daniel Sasson

Daniel is a Ph.D. student in UF Biology who is also completing a portion of his dissertation in the Miller Lab. Daniel is interested in sperm competition and testes development. He is currently looking at genotype-by-environment expression in the development of testes.

Ummat Somjee

Ummat

Ummat began his M.S. in the Fall of 2011 on sexual selection in Narnia femorata. Previously, he worked on sex allocation in parasitoids, ecology of rattlesnakes and seabirds, and behaviors in tortoise and hippopotamus. Welcome, Ummat!
