Use this table to identify species of Steinernema and
choose  appropriate enzymes for PCR-RFLP

How to identify species of Steinernema: Sequence the ITS region using primers 18S and 26S. Next, using GCG MAP and MAPSORT programs (GCG) to collect number of cuts, cut sites, and fragment lengths. Sequence length, number of cuts, and fragment lengths can be used to identify nematode species.

TABLE 1: Number of cuts (boldfaced numbers) for each restriction enzyme and position of cuts (from pair 1) of ITS sequences of 10 species of Steinernema cut by 22 enzymes.( TABLE )
