Marice Lopez

Marice was born in Havana, Cuba and grew up in Miami, FL. She obtained a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Soil and Water Science from the University of Florida in 2014. She worked in a plant diagnostics clinic as a laboratory technician where she became interested in entomology. Marice completed a Masters degree in 2018 in the Small Fruit and Vegetable IPM lab at the University of Florida. Her research involved developing protocols for managing nematodes and insect pests in organic squash by evaluating cover crops, companion plants, and an organic insecticide as cultural and chemical control methods.
