County Records: Leon (Pascarella, unpub. Data)
Locations:
Dates: March in Florida
Plants: polylectic
Notes: New state record for Florida. Previously known from Clayton, Georgia (Stephen). Our specimens conform to the subspecies C. inaequalis xxxx ? that is distinguished by the distinctive golden coloration, not gray, of the pubescence. The specimens I have from Leon county are all males and have the typical genitalia and sterna of the species in spite of the unusual coloration. Stephen did not recognize this subspecies as it co-occurs with the nominal form. However, his key will not recognize this species as it only works with the nominal color form.
County Records: Alachua, Duval, Gadsden, Leon, Levy, Liberty, Marion, Orange, Seminole, St. Johns
Locations: St. Augustine
Dates: March-May; in Florida, often January-February
Plants: Ilex, Pyrus, Salix, Vaccinium
Notes: This and C. inaequalis are very closely related and might be confused.
