Treating the names of the six forms of P. nana as subspecies, the six subspecies recognized on the above map are listed below:

Woo's katydid (Phaneroptera nr. nana) is most similar to the Mediterranean katydid (Phaneroptera nana nana) but males of Phaneroptera nr. nana are easily separated from Phaneroptera nana by the ventral and lateral views of the terminalia.
