William Anderson is enrolled in the Interdisciplinary PhD Program at the University of Florida's School of Natural Resources and Environment. Under the guidance and leadership of Dr. Oscar Liburd in the Department of Entomology & Nematology, Will brings a wealth of experience to the field, particularly in leadership roles across diverse development programs and community-driven initiatives addressing environmental challenges.
With a focus on sustainable, community-driven solutions, his experience includes coastal climate impact forecasting, effectively predicting and identifying mitigating variables to address the consequences of climate change on coastal communities. His proficiencies extend to renewable and traditional energy management, encompassing a broad spectrum of energy generation services and technologies. Notably, excelling in both geospatial information systems and regulatory policy analysis, collaborating with government agencies to ensure adherence to regulations and maximizing land use planning efficiency within development projects.
A skilled science communicator, Will’s international experience in sustainable development spans multiple CARICOM and ASEAN countries, showcasing adaptability in addressing cultural differences and advocating for integrated and collaborative development frameworks. Specializations include Socio-Environmental Monitoring and Evaluation, design and implementation of impactful, community-driven programs to track the social and environmental impacts of development projects.
