Life cycles of seven eastern Gryllus species

Four of the species overwinter only as juveniles, one overwinters only in the egg stage, and two overwinter in a mixture of stages. Four of the species have one generation per year, one has two generations per year, and two have overlapping or continuous generations. Gryllus fultoni in north Flordia has a partial 2nd generation of adults, but whether their progeny contribute to the population of overwintering adults is not known.
