         NEMATODE IDENTIFICATION

Identification to species:
                                              Some plant parasitic nematodes
                                             Some nematodes in Rhabditida

How to recognize and describe a new genus or new species:
Students will be taught how to recognize a new nematode and the process of description and publication.

Materials: Nematode samples collected by students, samples from Extension lab of the department, and from DPI Nematology are used for this course.
Final test: In the last week of the course, students will collect a number of samples from different habitats, extract nematodes and try to identify all nematodes that they have learned from the course . m
