3. Extension Responsibilities
- Provide statewide leadership in a program to deliver to Florida
citrus producers current information generated in IFAS and elsewhere
about all pests of citrus and for their management; and assist
producers to utilize the information and tactics in programs of
integrated pest management.
4. Accomplishments
- Supervised the work of three post doctoral scientists.
- Co-Chairman of a Ph.D. graduate student Project leader on
a four year federally funded citrus IPM project in collaboration
with University of California-Riverside, University of Florida
and Egypt.
- Involved in extension activities related to new citrus pest
introductionscitrus canker, citrus leafminer and anticipation
of brown citrus aphid.
- Put together program and speakers for statewide growers on
Citrus IPM and Diaprepes root weevil
- Provided IPM leadership in the State Major Extension Program,
Citrus Management
- Provided leadership in annual revisions of the Florida Citrus
Pest Management Guide
- Elected as President of the Florida Entomological Society
Elected as Chairman of Section E of the Entomological Society
of America
